Celebrating 10 years of Sherlock FMC
Last week we celebrated our 10th anniversary by holding some leadership strategy sessions in the snowy mountains combined with a client presentation, some huge mountain treks and a visit to the Snowy Hydro visitor centre where we had a special ‘behind the scenes’ look at this unique and exciting project.
Snowy Mountains 10-year strategy session
It was humbling to discuss our achievements since officially starting the business in its current format in Jan 2015. Unofficially Sherlock FMC was in existence from approx. June 2024 but we launched our current brand in Jan 2025.
But it was even more exciting to discuss the future of our organisation and some of the key initiatives that we are hoping to launch in 2025. We will publish more information when things come to fruition but watch this space for what we believe are some firsts for the Australian Facility Management industry.

Kokoda 2025
What’s the mountain treks got to do with the 10-year anniversary I hear you ask. Well, Rob and I have gathered some of our fantastic past clients and other Facilities professionals together and we are taking the plunge to tackle the Kokoda track for a bumper 2025 fundraiser for our selected charity Legacy.
It is our goal to complete the Kokoda track and remember Anzac Day at the Kokoda Track memorial. We will share sponsor details in due course and we will also look to share some of our training walks. Unfortunately, the actual trek walk is fully booked but if anybody would like to join us for training walks or rise funds for Legacy at Anzac Day that would be great. Again – watch this space.
Snowy Hydro
Thanks to my sister Lorna for arranging our visit to the Snowy Hydro visitor centre. What a project! The Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme’s history. It is a nation-building renewable energy project that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
The project involves linking two existing dams, Tantangara and Talbingo, through 27km of tunnels and building a new underground power station. It will provide flexible, on-demand power while reusing or ‘recycling’ the water in a closed loop and maximise the efficiency of renewables by using excess solar and wind energy to pump water to the higher dam, to be stored for later use.
If anybody is passing through Thredbo I highly recommend stopping in to the visitor centre on your way through.
